You're Not Alone
Tragedy and doubt are no strangers to us. To whatever degree tragedy has touched most everyone’s life whether it’s the loss of a loved one, the loss of a job, a serious breakdown of the family, the dark pain of addictions, injustice and ridicule. When tragedy erupts we seek answers from God because tragedy is difficult to understand and faith is shaken. We’re desperate for answers. We ask for explanations but get nothing but silence. When there’s no apparent answer we blame God and become bitter and cynical toward him.
In desolate and lonely personal times much of what happens in our lives is beyond us. We simply don’t have His master plan. We view life as though we are watching a parade through a rolled-up program. We can only see what’s immediately in front of us. But God is high above us and sees all of life at one glance. He sees both the beginning and the end of things, while we see only the present.
Be encouraged. God is here for you. He will never leave you. Even when you can't see the hand of God, you can trust the heart of God. “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed says the Lord who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10
